Abdominoplasty is a very effective procedure to help flatten, shape, and tighten the skin of the abdomen.  It is commonly performed  with general anesthesia on an outpatient basis.  The most common patients are women that have completed child bearing and patients, both men and women who have lost a lot of weight.

You will need somebody with you during the first 5-7 days after surgery.  Expect to be home for the first 2 weeks.  After 3 weeks most patients are able to return to work and brisk walks are allowed.  Six weeks after surgery all limitations will be lifted.   The incision will continue to lighten for up to 2 years.
